ILAP is a professional coaching development program. It is an ICF accredited ACSTH program (= approved coach-specific training hours)

It has 3 defining features:

1) Competencies: It is fully aligned to the new Coaching Core Competencies, as defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). These core competencies come into effect in 2021.

2) People Leaders: The program is designed for the realities of People Leaders who want to level up their coaching competence to that of a professional coach. The program teaches Leaders how to coach and how to use coaching skills in most of the conversations with their important stakeholders, such as their team, peers and Leaders.

3) Delivery and Flexibility: The program is delivered fully online using state-of-the-art technology and facilitation techniques. The core curriculum spans a period of 4 months and is delivered in a highly modular way. Participants have the flexibility to complete their training within an 8 months time frame.

ILAP is designed to achieve the following key learning goals:

• Assist participants in understanding and applying ICF Coaching Core Competencies
• Develop participants’ awareness of self and the shift required to coach at ICF Associate Certified Coach Level.

We designed ILAP to speak to the reality and challenges of People Leaders of all levels. ILAP helps Leaders become great at coaching; it also helps them apply coaching skills in all manner of situations at work. We give Leaders an essential toolkit to take their conversations to an entirely new level.

Aspiring People Leaders

Functional experts who are about to become Leaders face an important challenge to change their interaction style. Learning to coach well give new Leaders a head-start to ensure they build trusting relationships from the start.

People/HR Specialists

Experts in the People/HR function interact with their organisation in a variety of ways. They are expected to master the balance between advising and coaching on a daily basis and role model behaviours to the workforce. ILAP will help such professionals become more intentional communicators with powerful coaching competencies.

 The ILAP has three program packages to suit the variety of needs in the audience.

These packages are:

1) IntelliCoach CORE

This includes modules 1-4 and certifies Leaders to be a ‘Certified IntelliCoach Leader Coach’. This track is for Leaders who want to learn the coaching curriculum, but do not want or need to apply for certification with the ICF.

2) IntelliCoach PRO

This package includes everything the ‘CORE’ package has. It adds module 5, which includes support and training for participants to prepare their certification with the ICF. The PRO package also includes 3h of individual 1-1 mentor coaching. Participants get a certificate that they can use to apply with ICF for their ACC credential.

3) IntelliCoach MAX

This package includes our complete set of powertools (esp EQI-2.0). It adds 1-1 coaching, extra mentoring and support for participants to achieve fast growth and impact.

Trial

All interested learners for ILAP may apply for complimentary ILAP Explorer access to our Learning Management System. This trial access allows learners to experience

• the full pre-read and course preparation work as a lifetime complimentary gift. This constitutes 8 hours of learning.
• the program mentor coaches through a 1-1 session for 30minutes. The session is designed to clarify the learner’s business case for attending ILAP and assess mutual program fit.

Please note that attending the trial is mandatory for all program participants before start of the course to establish realistic expectations and understanding of the program and confirm ‘fit’.

Module 1 – Become Prepared to Coach

The first module includes all pre-read for learners to get ready for ILAP. It also covers one of the most important elements of the course: holding up high our courage, humility and discipline throughout. This module is designed to clarify mindset and business case for every participant and get us ready to dive in with full speed into the content curriculum.

At the end of this module, participants are prepared with basic coaching knowledge ideas, have clarified their own intentions and business case and have personally met their cohort peers and program mentor coaches.

This module covers a deep dive of the ICF coaching core competencies in lose context to learners’ roles as formal or informal Leaders. Through a wide variety of exercises, we will understand and practice how the core competencies sound and feel.

Module 3 – Become a Leader Coach

In this module, we shift gears in multiple ways:

• We rehearse the core competencies introduced in module 2
• We learn and explore how to apply coaching in our regular leader conversations
• We gain concrete practice in holding a coaching conversation.

In module 3, lessons set coaching competencies into specific leadership contexts, to help participants not just have great coaching conversations, but also use coaching skills to elevate most of their stakeholder interactions.

In this final practice module, participants will refresh the core competencies for the second time, in view of showcasing their understanding and mastery of concepts.

Through a final review, we clarity minimum standards for core competencies, highlight critical success factors and focus strongly on coaching labs, experiences and mentor coaching.

Module 5 – Become Globally Recognized

This module is provided to learners who chose the ACC or COMPLETE package. It provides additional resources to prepare participants for their ACC application with the International Coaching Federation.

In particular, the model prepares the knowledge-based assessment and documents additional requirements for 1-1 mentor coaching.

At the end of this module, participants have the required knowledge and resources to apply for their ACC credential with the International Coaching Federation.

We believe that Leaders will need a variety of tools to be effective with team members, peers and other clients they coach.

ILAP builds on existing models that support predominantly transactional coaching:

(1) The GROW Model: An effective, simple and easy-to-learn model that Leaders can use with coachees to help them build ownership in their own solutions.

(2) The OSKAR Model: A simple and relatable model from solution-focused coaching that helps the coach through focus on scaling and resources, thereby assisting an effective and productive coaching approach.

ILAP also introduces the proprietary DREAM™ model to support Leaders have transformational coaching sessions with their team members.

The DREAM™ model assists Leader Coaches to focus on the PERSON, not the problem and help clients grow and learn from their awareness.

It consists of 5 elements; the more those 5 elements are present, the higher the likelyhood for a transformational impact:

D = Understand the real Desire of the client
R = Reality of the current conversation; make a strong agreement
E = Explore with the client in a partnering way
A = Evoke and notice Awareness in the client
M = Support the client's learning, growth and Momentum forward.

Program participants will be exposed to a variety of coaching aproaches and methods to become comfortable coaching in a wide variety of situations.

We look for three things in participants who want to join the program: (1) Courage (2) Humility and (3) Discipline

(1) Courage

It requires a lot of courage to unlearn/relearn certain aspects of communicating. Yet, this is what learning to coach often means. The program will push us all to the edge of our comfort zones, where learning is happening.

(2) Humility

Our coach training involves a lot of observed coaching. It requires humility to accept the feedback and observations as they are and work with them. Humility also means that however senior you are, you have a growth mindset towards yourself that lets you recognize that your learning never ends and that you can and should always try to improve further.

(3) Discipline

Learning to coach is not a simple act. It requires commitment over time to understand the principles and practice them often enough to become proficient. ILAP is designed as a 4+ months journey that requires 4-6h of commitment almost every single week from participants. This requires determination and commitment. Yet, it offers a great reward: A life skill that is invaluable in ANY conversation going forward.

When you apply for ILAP, you will get access to most of the lessons in module 1 (Prepare) right away. There, you can read more about these 3 concepts. We will also get in touch with you personally to talk about your readiness to embark on this exciting journey!

We can look at 3 levels:

(1) individual program lesson
(2) the entire ILAP Program and
(3) ICF ACC requirements

(1) Individual Program Lesson

• Every lessons has a short quiz attached to it. Once the lesson quiz is passed, this lesson is recorded as 'attended'.
• For each lesson, in the forum submit a substantial reflection and also reply to at least one peer's reflection. Note: Reflective practice is a core competency as a coach.
• It is required for participants to attend all sessions. For up to 4 lessons in the program, you will be able to attend the session by viewing the recording only. If you decide to do that, please inform your mentor coach.

(2) ILAP Program completion requirements

• You participated in all program lessons to qualify for the final certificate.
• You passed all lesson quizzes and submitted required lesson reflections.
• You created a coaching recording that satisfies ICF core competency standards for ACC and passed the Performance Evaluation.
• For ACC track: You passed the final ILAP knowledge exam.
• For ACC track: You completed 3 individual mentor coaching hours on top of the 7 group mentor coaching hours that are part of the regular sessions.

(3) For Achieving the additional ICF ACC Credential

Additional requirements apply from ICF in regards to mentor coaching and coaching experience.

How does this translate into a typical week?

We estimate that you will spend about 6h per week with the course: This breaks down into:

~4h = Online Session participation (For Module 2, we take 3h per week; for modules 3-4, this will increase to 4h per week)

1h = Pre-Work per Session + Post-Session Quiz (mandatory)

1h = Recommended own practice in peer groups

It takes about 4 months to complete the entire curriculum of the Leader Academy Program.

The program includes in total 68 coach training hours, of which 62h happen in live Zoom Training Sessions (Synchronous). The remaining hours are considered as self-study in Module 1 (Asynchronous).

In a typical week, may need to resever up to 6h for the program, consisting of 3-4h of live sessions and pre-post work.

Once you submitted your application (bottom of this page) and gone through lessons 1.1 to 1.4, we will issue you a simple contract.

The following policies on payments apply:

• Receipts for payment are provided in electronic format.
• The net fee is due before commencement of the first actual live session (lesson 1.6).
• You may choose to upgrade to a higher track at any time before the end of Module 3 delivery.

Policies on Withdrawals and Refunds

All withdrawals shall be given to IntelliCoach in written notice.

• More than 14 days notice prior to Program commencement: 100% refund of the program fees. An administrative fee of 10% of the course fees will be chargeable.
• 14 days or less than 14 days notice prior to Program commencement: 50% refund of the program fees.
• There will be no refunds after the commencement of the course.
• Exception for quality assurance guarantee: IntelliCoach guarantees that if the Client believes the ILAP does not meet the quality standards of professional coach training, IntelliCoach shall offer a full refund within 30 days after commencement of the first session that the Client attended.

The statements above will be superseded by the actual contract between IntelliCoach and the client.

When you apply for ICF Certification with IntelliCoach, you will take the ACC ACSTH path.

As of 15 Apr 2021, the requirements are as follows:

• At least 60 hours of coach-specific training through an ACTP or ACSTH program. Check for your program’s approval below.
• 10 hours of Mentor Coaching over a minimum of three months to be documented on your online application. Your Mentor Coach must be an ACC who has completed a full cycle of the credential through renewal, PCC or MCC in good standing.
• A minimum of 100 hours (70 paid*) of coaching experience with at least eight clients following the start of your coach-specific training. At least 25 of these hours must occur within the 24 months** prior to submitting the application for the credential.
• Performance evaluation (audio recording and written transcript of a coach session to be uploaded with your application).
  Completion of the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA).

Mentor Coaching is an essential element in Coach Training.

In Mentor Coaching, trainees receive individual or group feedback on their coaching performance.

The IntelliCoach Leader Academy satisfies the requirements by ICF to include 10h of Mentor Coaching.

7 of these hours will be delivered as part of Group Mentor Coaching in Module 4.

3 of these hours will be delivered through 1-1 direct mentor Coaching. In this type of mentor Coaching, you will submit a recording of a coaching session to your mentor coach. We will transcribe the recording using an AI tool, then meet for 1h to talk through your coaching session. We will carve out what worked well, what can be improved, and to what degree it qualifies as a recording that satisfies ICF requirements.

Hardware: 

• We strongly recommend that you join via a laptop computer and using broadband. The experience on a mobile phone and tablet is likely not sufficient. You will benefit from a larger screen.
• A seperate headset is very useful and conducive to the experience. If you want to go the extra mile, we recommend a lavalier microphone, like the Rode SmartLav+.
• A high-quality HD webcam is a good investment in the new work-from-home area. It helps tremendously to get other people connect with you over the distance.

Software:

We record all sessions.

The purpose of the recordings is to serve as reference point for learning and to allow rehearsal of understanding of topics.

They are not meant as a substitute to actual participation.

They will not be made available to the public and we ask you not to distribute them. 

The session recordings will be made available on the Learning Management System (LMS) a few days after session run.

There are multiple options how to deal with this case.

1) Catch up via recording for up to 4 sessions in the program.

In general, IntelliCoach has to ensure full participation of members in the program.

We are allowed to designate a certain share of the program as asynchronous learning.

Therefore: We allow members to watch recordings and pass the session test for 4 sessions (=10%). In case you face the situation that you want to complete a lesson via recording only, send us a note at support@intellicoach.com to let us know about the session that you missed and that you do not intend to participate live either in the current of future cohorts.

2) Catch the other session for the same lesson.

We offer two identical sessions per lesson. The two sessions are at different times/dates. Hopefully, this will allow you to participate in person.

3) Catch the same session/lesson in the next program cycle

We allow participants to remain members of the program for up to 3 program cycles without a fee. We plan to run the Academy regularly from 2021, to offer opportunities to catch up if needed.

Once you attended a session, your Mentor Coach / Facilitator will note down your attendance and enable the quiz in the Learning Management System within 24h of your attendance. Once you completed the quiz, your session will be set as ‘attended’ and counted against your program completion status.

ACC is and abbreviation that refers to the first of three credential levels offered by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The Intellicoach Leader Academy prepares members, so they are ready to apply for their credential with the ICF.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation indicates that a school has had their program undergo rigorous external scrutiny and quality testing by a peak body.  The curriculum is mapped across core competencies, with the faculty, assessment and learning processes all assessed.  Program accreditations at International Coach Academy include ACTP and ACSTH.

IntelliCoach works towards achieving accreditation with the ICF for its IntelliCoach Leader Academy Program.

What is a Credential?

With coaching, a credential designates a recognized level of expertise in coaching, as assessed by an industry peak body such as the ICF.  This is represented by designations such as ACC, PCC or MCC.

What is Certification?

In the case of coach training,  certification is a globally recognized statement of attainment that indicates you have been assessed by an Accredited Coach Training Provider as having the industry recognized skills and expertise required to practice as a coach.

Who is the ICF?

The International Coaching Federation is the leading global organization for coaches, with more than 25,000 members and 12,000 credentialed coaches in more than 100 countries worldwide. According to the ICF Global Coaching Study 2020, globally, it is estimated that there were approximately 71,000 coach practitioners in 2019, an increase of 33% on the 2015 estimate.

ILAP is the short form for IntelliCoach Leader Academy Program, the Core Program by IntelliCoach to certify People Leaders in Professional Coaching skills.

ILAP consists of 5 modules and lessons.

These 5 modules are:

Each module consists of multiple lessons, which are discreet learning units. For example, module 2 (become a coach) consists of 10 module lessons, such as ‘What is Coaching’ or ‘Demonstrate Ethical Practice’. One module lesson might span across multiple learning sessions, i.e. Zoom Meetings

ILAP consists of 5 modules. The first 4 modules teach the core curriculum and certify participants to become a ‘Certified IntelliCoach Leader Coach’. Module 5 prepares and supports participants on the ‘global recognition track’ to apply for their ACC certification with the ICF.

These 5 modules are:

1) Prepare to become a Coach
2) Become a Coach
3) Become a Leader Coach
4) Become experienced
5) Become globally recognised

ILAP has three program tracks to suit the variety of needs in the audience.

These tracks are:

1) Skilled Coach Track:

This track includes modules 1-4 and certifies Leaders to be a ‘Certified IntelliCoach Leader Coach’. This track is for Leaders who want to learn the coaching curriculum, but do not want or need to apply for certification with the ICF.

2) Global Recognition Track:

This track includes everything the ‘Skilled Coach Track’ has. It adds module 5, which includes support and training for participants to prepare their certification with the ICF.

3) Accelerated Success Track

This track includes the Global Recognition Track and adds extra mentoring and support for participants to achieve fast growth and impact.
